Terms of Use
Last updated: August 10, 2026
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Dokpod (“Dokpod,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including our website at dokpod.io, desktop applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to form a binding contract. You may not use the Service if barred by law or if we previously suspended your account for a Terms violation.
3. Description of the service
Dokpod helps you store, organize, and search documents, images, videos, and related content for use with AI-assisted workflows. You can use Dokpod on the web and through our desktop apps.
On Local desktop plans, indexing and search are designed to run on your computer, with account sign-in and plan checks still handled through Dokpod. Cloud and Team plans may store and process vault content on our systems. Optional desktop feature packs (such as video, image text, or visual description) download additional tools to your computer when you choose to install them.
Features, limits, and plans are described on our pricing page and may change over time. We may add, change, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
4. Account registration and security
Provide accurate registration information and keep it updated. You are responsible for activity under your account, including through connection keys or credentials you create.
Protect your login details and any keys associated with your account. Notify us at support@dokpod.io if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses from credentials you failed to protect.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Upload or share content you do not have the right to use
- Violate intellectual property, privacy, or other applicable laws
- Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access
- Abuse the Service in a way that harms other users or our systems
- Share account credentials in a way that exposes others' data
- Use the Service to build a competing product through systematic scraping
We may investigate violations and suspend or terminate accounts that pose risk to the Service or others.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload or create (“Your Content”). You grant Dokpod a limited license to host, process, index, and transmit Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you and authorized teammates on your plan.
You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights needed to upload and process it.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including software, design, and branding, is owned by Dokpod or its licensors. Feedback you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.
8. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
Certain features require an active trial or paid subscription. Plan details appear on our pricing page and at checkout.
New accounts may start a 3-day free trial where offered. You may need to provide payment details at checkout. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription may begin and your payment method may be charged for the plan you selected.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before renewal. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
9. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third-party tools (such as AI assistants or cloud providers). Those services have their own terms. Dokpod is not responsible for third-party products you choose to connect.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free search or AI output.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOKPOD WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DOKPOD IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Dokpod against claims arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or if required by law. Provisions that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply. Before filing a formal claim, contact support@dokpod.io and try to resolve the dispute informally within thirty (30) days.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, except where further consent is required by law.
